Modalités du renouvellement ou de l'annulation

The agreement will be reviewed every three years, or sooner in the event major curriculum changes in either partner's program. This agreement may be terminated by either party. In this case, notice of one year is required. Students enrolled at Trent at the time of any change shall be allowed to complete their degree based on the original terms of this transfer pathway.

Admissibilité au parcours

Upon successful completion of the four semester Police Foundations Diploma program at Fleming College, graduates with a minimum 75% cumulative program average will be eligible to apply to the Bachelor of Arts (Honours), joint-major program at Trent University.  Applicants must declare their choice of program at the time of their initial application to Trent.

  • 0.5 FRSC 1100H - Introduction to Canadian justice
  • 0.5 FRSC 2010H - Mentorship/placement
  • 0.5 FRSC 2100H - Criminal code
  • 0.5 FRSC 2110H - Police powers
  • 0.5 FRSC 3110H - Criminology in forensics
  • 0.5 PSYC 1020H (*1) - Introduction to psychology part 1: Experimental and biological bases of behaviour
  • 1.0 POST 2010Y - Canadian politics
  • 1.0 SOCI credit @ 2000 level

Note:  (*1) Completion of PSYC 1030H with a minimum 60% average is required prior to progression to any PSYC courses at the 2000 level or above. It is strongly recommended that students complete this in the summer prior to commencement of studies at Trent.   • FRSC-HIST 3751Y - The history of crime in England
  • FRSC-PHYS 1020H - Forensic physics
  • FRSC-ANTH-BIOL 3415Y - 
  • FRSC-ERSC-CHEM 3400H - Chromotography or FRSC 3410H - Spectrophotometry and spectroscopy


Requirements for Second Discipline in Joint-Major:


Students are referred to the academic calendar for specific departmental joint-major requirements.
Suggested disciplines that will align well with a joint-major in Forensic Science include:

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Psychology
  • Sociology
  • Anthropology

Students are welcome to pursue other options according to their interest.  It is strongly recommended that students discuss their academic program with an academic advisor prior to registering for courses.

Maximum of 7.0 credits @ 1000 level
For the B.Sc., 14 Science credits in the program as a whole, including 1.0 MATH credit
Minimum of 7.0 credits beyond the 2000 level
The same course may not simultaneously satisfy the requirements of both programs in a joint-major degree.
