Pathway Details

Terms for renewal or cancellation

This agreement is effective from the date at which the program was approved, and the pathway shall be reviewed annually to reflect any changes that are made to either programs curriculum.  Student's enrolled in the receiving institution at the time of any pathway changes will be given the opportunity to complete their studies based on the transfer pathway in effect at the time of enrollment.

Eligibility for Pathway

Graduates of a 2-year Social Service Worker diploma or 3-year Child and Youth Care advanced diploma program with a minimum 3.0 GPA may be considered for admission into the 5th semester of the program in the Fall term, after completing a bridge semester in the summer. 

How to apply: 

Domestic students will be required to submit an application via Ontario Colleges Application Service (OCAS) and select “advanced entry” or “degree completion” as their entry semester.  Official transcripts showing diploma completion and a final program GPA must be submitted.

International students will apply to the degree via Seneca’s International Student Web Application, and follow up with their Admissions Advisor regarding their pathway eligibility.  The student will need their Seneca application confirmation number when they reach out to their advisor.  Official transcripts showing diploma completion and a final program GPA must be submitted.

Credit transfer

Graduates of a 2-year Social Service Worker diploma or 3-year Child and Youth Care advanced diploma program will receive 20 transfer credits towards this 4-year degree.

Credits that must be achieved at the receiving institution

Students are required to complete 5 summer bridge courses, 21 core courses (semester 5-8), plus 1 work integrated learning term. 

Summer bridging stream includes the following courses:

MHB399: Advanced Studies in Community Mental Health
MHB499: Health and Community Psychology
MHB599: Introduction to Mental Health and Addiction
MHB699: Crisis Counselling and Therapeutic Approaches
MHB799: Trauma Methods and Practices in Community Mental Health

Anticipated normal schedule of student progression

Students will complete the credential in four academic semesters plus one work integrated learning term (2 years).
