Terms for renewal or cancellation

This transfer pathway shall be continuous from year to year.  Any changes to the existing policy will not affect current students.

Eligibility for Pathway

Students of Fleming College who have successfully completed an advanced diploma or applied degree program will be eligible for admission consideration to the Consecutive Bachelor of Education (Technological Education) Program. The Bachelor of Education is a competitive program so meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

Application process:

1. Complete a TEAS application through OUAC (Ontario University Application Centre).
2. Please read the Faculty of Education Consecutive Supplementary Application Booklet (PDF) to prepare your application.
3. Complete the online supplementary application which also includes submitting the name and email of two referees.

Credit transfer

By successfully completing a Fleming College advanced diploma or applied degree program will be eligible for admission consideration and deemed to have satisfied the equivalent of an undergraduate degree program.

The amount of transfer credit awarded is applicable to the Consecutive Bachelor of Education (Technological Education) program only.

Credits that must be achieved at the receiving institution

Consistent with all other BEd programs at York, the Technological Education option requires completion of 60 credits offered in two consecutive Fall/Winter sessions in addition to the requirements of the student's program at the sending institution.

Anticipated normal schedule of student progression

Consistent with all other BEd programs at York, the Technological Education option requires completion of 60 credits offered in two consecutive Fall/Winter sessions in addition to the requirements of the student's program at the sending institution.

Credential(s) to be granted on successful completion of all required components

Individuals who successfully complete the Consecutive BEd (Technological Education) Program and and who have successfully completed an approved applied degree or advanced diploma and a minimum of two years (24 months) of work experience related to the area(s) of Technological Education selected as options in the program of professional education will be eligible for recommendation by York University to receive a Certificate of Qualification in Technological Education from the Ontario College of Teachers so they may a teacher of Technological Education in an Ontario Secondary School.
