Pathway Details

Terms for renewal or cancellation

Laurentian University Senate will review this transfer pathway periodically, introducing new amendments as appropriate.  Any change to this pathway will not affect current students.  Students enrolled at Laurentian at the time of any change shall be allowed to complete their degree based on the original terms of this transfer pathway.

Eligibility for Pathway

Graduates of Police Foundation diploma program with an overall average of 70% or better are eligible to apply to the Honours Bachelor of Arts Law and Justice degree program at Laurentian University.

Credit transfer

Admitted students with an 80% will receive the equivalent of 7 full courses (42 credits) toward the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law and Justice degree.

Admitted students with a 70% will receive the equivalent of 5 full courses (30 credits) toward the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law and Justice degree.

Credits that must be achieved at the receiving institution

Students with 42 transfer credits will be required to complete 13 full courses (78 credits) at Laurentian University.

Students with 30 transfer credits will be required to complete 15 full courses (90 credits) at Laurentian University.

Anticipated normal schedule of student progression

Students with 42 transfer credits should complete the Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in approximately two and a half academic years (5 semesters).

Students with 30 transfer credits should complete the Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in approximately three academic years (6 semesters).
