Pathway Details

Terms for renewal or cancellation

Laurentian University Senate will review this transfer pathway periodically, introducing new amendments as appropriate. Any change to this pathway will not affect current students.  Students enrolled at Laurentian at the time of any change shall be allowed to complete their degree based on the original terms of this transfer pathway.

Eligibility for Pathway

Graduates of two-year Law Clerk diploma programs with an overall average of 70% or better are eligible to apply to the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law and Justice degree program at Laurentian University.

Credit transfer

Transfer students with an 80% or better can receive up to the equivalent of 7 full courses (42 credits) toward the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law and Justice degree.

Transfer students with a 70% can receive up to the equivalent of 5 full courses (30 credits) toward the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law and Justice degree.

Credits that must be achieved at the receiving institution

Students with an 80% will be required to complete 13 full courses (78 credits) at Laurentian University for the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law and Justice degree.

Students with a 70% will be required to complete 15 full courses (90 credits) at Laurentian University for the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law and Justice degree.

Anticipated normal schedule of student progression

Transfer students with an 80% should complete the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law and Justice degree in approximately two and a half academic years (5 semesters).

Transfer students with a 70% should complete the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law and Justice degree in approximately three academic years (6 semesters).
