Terms for renewal or cancellation

The agreement will be reviewed annually, or sooner in the event of major curriculum changes in either partner’s programs. This agreement may be terminated by either party. In this case, notice of one year is required. In the event of termination of the agreement, every effort will be made to ensure that students currently enrolled in the program will not be affected..

Eligibility for Pathway

To qualify for this agreement, students must have:
- successfully completed Fleming College’s Early Childhood Education Diploma;
- a minimum overall average of 75%.

 

Credit transfer

Students commencing studies in the Early Childhood Education Diploma program since Fall 2017 will receive the following 5.0 transfer credits:

  • 0.5 PSYC 1020H - Introduction to Psychology Part I: Experimental and Biological Bases of Behaviour
  • 0.5 PSYC 2500H - Child Development
  • 1.0 CHYS 4880Y - Placement - Field Based Learning
  • 0.5 INDG 1001H - Foundation for Reconciliation
  • 0.5 WRIT 1001H - Write in Time
  • 0.5 WRIT 2002H - Write It Up: Effective Communication
  • 0.5 unassigned Child and Youth Studies credit at the 1000 level
  • 1.0 unassigned Arts credit 1000 level

Students commencing studies in the Early Childhood Education Diploma program prior to Fall 2017 are encouraged to contact Trent University for information regarding transfer credits received as part of this articulation agreement.

Credits that must be achieved at the receiving institution

Upon successful admission to Trent University students are required to take an additional 15.0 credits to meet Honours degree requirements. Required courses to be completed at Trent will vary based on the major declared by the student. Programs available at Trent University are listed at http://trentu.ca/futurestudents. Any students planning to pursue a major in which introductory transfer credits are not provided are strongly encouraged to complete a summer term prior to entering Trent University to allow for a seamless transition into second year.
